![]() When bringing items to the Recycling Center, you must be a Yonkers resident with valid identification. Residents are also encouraged to drop-off electronic equipment (computer monitors, TV’s (televisions larger than 36” can be picked up curbside by appointment only which can be arranged by calling 914-377-HELP), food processors, paper shredders, small appliances, CD players, Ni-Cad (nickel cadmium) batteries, etc.) to the Recycling Center. The City will collect NON-METAL bulk items every week from private homes and buildings with six (6) units or less. Grass clipping should be left on your lawn. The City of Yonkers will not pick up grass clippings and they cannot be delivered to the Organic Yard. NO tires, rims or car batteries will be picked up curbside. NO commercial garbage, construction material, compressed gas tanks, motor oil, medical waste, rocks or dirt are allowed for regular trash pick-up. This is a Class III Offense under §91-17 of the City Code which is punishable of a $1,500 fine. Plastic bags must be used for refuse and not heavier than 50 pounds.
